ISBPA’s Fall Meeting serves up a platter of informational, educational and networking opportunities for members, their families and key management staff. All these functions are a benefit of ISBPA membership and provided at no additional cost.
The Association will host a luncheon at 11:45 AM Monday followed by the Annual General Membership Meeting. The meeting will feature BPAA Executive Director Frank DeSocio, who will provide the keynote and a BPAA industry report. The International Bowling Campus' Managing Director of Youth, Gary Brown, will provide a youth bowling update with details of on USBC's adoption of the US Center of SafeSport Trained Courses, specifically explaining how it affects youth bowlers bowling alongside adult bowlers. The meeting will also feature special ISBPA award honorees, a discussion/vote on a proposed increase in state membership dues of $6/lane effective 2021, a state legislative report, and a school bowling report.
Education programming includes our featured presenter, Tim Voss. Tim is a Columbus Ohio proprietor, business entrepreneuer and author. The most talked about session at this past year’s Bowl Expo, Voss provides a “grass-roots” marketing approach that fits the spending abilities of every bowling center which any bowling center operator can implement. Attendees are guaranteed to take back home at least one program, promotion or idea from this enlightening session!

The morning sessions include several shorter presentations. The day’s programming is led off by Western Bowling Proprietors Insurance CEO Cameron Linder’s enlightening presentation covering what you can do to protect your business and customers against assault incidents, and what your legal duties are in the event of a violent assault and what your staff should and should not do when violence breaks out. The session will also cover how alcohol and legal marijuana impacts and influences these kind of claims and what you can do to avoid them.
The mid-morning session is led by ISBPA proprietors Mike Halleran of Orland Bowl and Kyle Cermak from Palos Lanes, covering Practical Application and Best Strategies for your center’s Social Media Presence. Topics include the value of (and how to influence) favorable customer review of your business, smart use of customer data capture, center website design ideas and functionality, and social media integrated platforms.
On Sunday evening MillerCoors is hosting a networking social at TopGolf, located near the hotel, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Enjoy plenty of apps and cold MillerCoors beverages in our semi-private event space while networking and watching the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. You can also test your golf gameplay skill on several reserved bays.
MillerCoors is also hosting a Hospitality Suite that will be open on Sunday and Monday evenings - another terrific networking opportunity for members, friends and vendors.
On Monday evening, your Association will host the popular ISBPA Supporting Member Mini Display/Cocktail Business Social, featuring an array of products and services from many of ISBPA’s Supporting Members.
